Guten tag and welcome to Berlin, home of Albert Einstein, the Brandenburg Gate and now the 27th ECNP Congress, which this correspondent is thrilled to be attending over the coming days.
Established in 1987, ECNP was initiated by a group of ambitious European Scientists, to encourage the cross-pollination of ideas in convergent disciplines of neuropsychopharmacology. Since then, it has become one of Europe’s biggest meetings in applied and translational medicine in neuroscience, and is considered by many as the peak of the scientific congress calendar.
ECNP is hailed as a place where pre-clinical and clinical worlds meet; a fertile, interdisciplinary ground aiming to translate advances made in the lab to real solutions for patients, in a flurry of talks, coffee and conversation. Which sounds like a pretty good way to spend a weekend, in this correspondent’s opinion.
So join us over the next few days where we’ll be reporting from inside the towering, concrete walls of the CityCube in Berlin with highlights in bipolar I from this years’ ECNP conference.
